BJ’s Wholesale Club:: Review & GIVEAWAY

by The CEO on January 6, 2010

I like to think of myself as a “Cost-co Girl”–I go there weekly & I know the store like the back of my hand. While I’m not the type that typically buys things in bulk, I do like the wide variety of products under one roof. I have some standards that I always buy, and I love perusing the aisles, testing new food items and checking out their clothing selection.

My Blog Spark introduced me to my local BJ’S Wholesale Club, and I have to say, I am feeling rather guilty. You see, My Blog Spark & General Mills offered me a free 60-day trial membership, so I decided to go for a little stroll through the store before venturing in with a shopping list. Could BJ’s really be better than my long-time love, Cost-co? Could they really satisfy my needs? As I walked through the aisles, admiring the selection, touching the clothing and books, peeking at the electronics department, I felt like I was having an affair.

Despite the fact that I didn’t have a list, I managed to spend over $100. But it was money extremely well spent. I brought home these luxury 500-count sheets, this double pack of Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser {that sold for less than what I can get it for at Cost-co}, and, of course, we could not leave without checking out the DS game selection and buying Buckaroo this new DS game {again, the price could not be beat}!

I scoped out the produce & deli sections, which were plentiful and fresh, and what I liked most about them was that not everything is sold in such large packaging. Whenever I buy grapes in Cost-co, I end up loosing a good 1/4 of them because we just don’t eat them fast enough. BJ’s offered supermarket-sized packaging at almost 30% less than supermarket-cost, which is perfect for our appetites and our budget. You can also get fresh deli meat sliced there, and I took home delicious brand-name turkey breast for just $4.99 for a pound. Shopping regularly at BJ’s will allow me to stretch my budget without sacrificing quality. Did I mention that they also accept Manufacturers coupons??!!

I will certainly be going back to make full use of my 60-day free membership.

Do you have a BJ’s Wholesale Club by you? If so, here is how you can get a free one-day shopping pass to try it out for yourself.
