At first, I was thrilled that he found something he wanted to do daily. Something that took his mind off of everything else. Something that calmed him down and entertained him when I was busy doing all of the things that I needed to get done. Even when he was demanding to do it before his eyes were completely open, I didn’t consider it an obsession.
But, then every conversation started to revolve around it. And it was all he wanted to do all day long. And apparently all he dreamt about, too, because his dreams even determined how our day started {“I had an amazing dream” or “I had a scary dream”.} But it wasn’t until yesterday — when he decided to write his own book all about it — that I started consulting Dr. G to see if there was a support group or something!
HELP! My son is addicted to Super Mario Brothers!
Here is a short clip {lovin’ my new Flip, by the way–but my apologizes for the slight blurrines of this clip!!} where he talks about the book he “wrote” about his adventures in Mario-land! Oh, and pardon the potty mouth–I don’t think he is capable of having a conversation without saying the word, “Butt.”

Hi Anna! Welcome to LIfe as a CEO! Glad you found me! And glad you got a goo laugh this morning!
Ha Ha! I love it. And he is such a cutie! Thanks for the chuckle!
I’m stopping by from FF. My daughter is addicted to Littlest Pet Shop and she HARDLY plays with them. They’re just collecting dust and she still request them as gifts!!!
Happy Follow Friday!
I LOVE when he asked if you were going to put it on your blog. I’m still cracking up at that. And he was right – you did put your butt on your blog, so dont fault him for having potty mouth. He was just answering your question about what you do on your blog. He is tooo much!!! Thanks for the smiles
Hard to find the right words to say…I’m new here and really like what I see. The only CEO at our house is four years old! I’m following you now, and glad to be doing so. My visit is from FF and I hope to see you soon.
That video absolutely cracked me up. I think we all have to go through a video game obsession of some sort at some point in our lives (sadly, my last video game obsession was at 28….)
stopping in from ff and I love it. Between your son, my two boys and my husband we are half way to an addicts meeting. I have read around and really enjoyed it. I am now a follower. Have a great weekend sarah

So funny! My hubby and I are serious Nintendo addicts! In fact to keep my mind off of the things we were going through he bought me both a new Wii game and downloaded some old school Mario Brothers. I can tell already that my son will be just like us, so far (he’s only 4) we have been able to hold him off, but our day is coming!
I included this in my Sunday Funnies:

Ha! I know this addiction. My four year old went through a period where he would only wear Super Mario shirts (but NOT ones that also said WII. They had to be PURE Mario.) and I visited Dr. G for weeks trying to find some in his size only to find a huge assortment at Kohls a few weeks later where I stalked up on the bargain shirts in such numbers that he will be wearing them into college…
Super cute video.
that would be stocked, not stalked. I am usually doing the latter.
thanks so much for the shout out!!
