We didn’t check off all 50 “things” from their list…but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our best summer yet.
We swam. Almost ever day.
We had playdates.
We went on a day trip into the city.
We went to the beach.
And the boardwalk.
And the waterpark.
Buckaroo went to his first concert.
We spent time as a family.
We spent time with our friends…lots of it!
Buckaroo learned how to ride his bike without training wheels.
Miss Mac became a better swimmer.
I managed to take lots of pictures to capture the spirit of summer, and, according to their “list,” here are some I’d like to share with you.
At the “purple park”….having a picnic!
Buckaroo swimming in Mom-Mom’s pool…
Miss Mac on the beach…
The three of us enjoying the rides at the Boardwalk…
Camping out in our backyard…well, we settled for the porch!
Having a “real” tea party….in their PJ’s {which they wore all day!}
Roasting marshmellows….& having a “campfire sing-a-long!”
Going bowling…
Having a BBQ with our friends…complete with a personal fireworks show {thanks, “Uncle” Steve!}
*Note: our deck was NOT done yet–its a total safety hazard this way….so were the fireworks.
Having a “free” Lemonade stand…
Climbing a tree….in Central Park on our day trip to NYC!
In the end, we managed to check 41 things off their “50 Fun Things to do this Summer” list…I think it’s safe to say “the list” was a success!
How about your kids? What were some of their favorite memories from this summer?

I know it’s been said before, but I absolutely love this idea of a summer list. I think that 41 out of 50 is a huge success. I’m pretty sure I can see a summer list in our future.
Well, I don’t have kids, but since we lived with my parents for two months this summer, I spent it hanging out with my 8 and 10 year old sister and brother. And kids do just make everything fun. All the swimming, all the Twister-playing, all the roasted marshmallows, all the making of videos, all the dance parties, all the read-alouds (we read the first three Harry Potter’s which was special for all three of us!). Kids are the best. I’m definitely going to keep this idea of a summer list to use once I have kids!!!
41 things! That’s amazing. Way to go on having an awesome summer!
41 out of 50 seems like a pretty good summer to me. Also I like the picture that is #9. Awesome pose.
I’d have to agree. Great success!
